For almost 25 years, Koen has been professionally active as a VAT advisor and entrepreneur. He offers a committed and direct approach.
Throughout his career, Koen has always focused on the development of a state-of-the-art VAT practice. As junior advisor with Arthur Andersen, he was the key driver for developing the VAT practice at the company’s Ghent office. After a merger with Deloitte, Koen moved to Central Europe, where he helped in developing the local Deloitte unit’s tax practices after EU accession. He has lived in Bratislava and Budapest for years, and has great experience with large inbound investment projects in Central Europe and is culturally aware of the region.
On his return to Belgium, Koen was involved in certain start-up projects and was one of the co-founders of Vatsquare.
Koen holds a master’s degree in Applied Economics (University of Leuven) and a master’s degree in International Relations (University of Leuven). Koen speaks on VAT issues at a wide variety of events and was a lecturer of VAT at Thomas More University.
